Panayotis Bernitsas has been the Managing Partner of the M&P Bernitsas Law Offices since 1984 and continues to have an active, broad-based commercial practice. He is particularly well known for his EU & Competition practice and has advised on the implementation of a number of directives in Greece. Panayotis has extensive experience in all types of Dispute Resolution, representing his clients in civil and administrative actions before the high courts and in numerous arbitrations, as well as acting as arbitrator in the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Panayotis has been heavily involved in the structuring and negotiation of the Project Finance and PPP transactions which opened the market in Greece and continues to advise in this area. His vast experience in Privatisations includes an impressive track record of involvement in many of the major and groundbreaking transactions to have taken place in Greece. Panayotis was Assistant Professor and subsequently Associate Professor of International Economic Law, the Law of International Business Transactions and European Community Law at the University of Thrace between 1983 and 2007. Panayotis has served as Counsel to the Prime Minister on E.U. matters between 1989-1990.
