Emil Yiannopoulos, Chartered Accountant (ICAEW), is the Financial Services Industry Leader of the Greek firm, coordinating strategy and delivery of services to this sector, the firm’s Assurance Leader and a member of its executive committee.
He is the lead relationship partner at one of the Greek firm's major banking clients and has led the delivery of advisory services to leading Greek financial institutions. Emil has valued several portfolios of renewable energy assets in Greece and advised their shareholders on their strategic options. Recently he has been the engagement leader in advising on the asset realisation and collection recovery strategies at large Greek banks including lead advisor to the successful vendors of 3 loan portfolios. Since mid 2009 Emil has led firm's initiatives in the Shipping industry and is the lead audit partner on one of the firm's SEC registrants.
Emil joined PwC in 1981 in London as an auditor, where he had a wide range of experience, including in the banking and insurance sectors. In 1987, he joined the firm’s Corporate Finance team in London where he worked on a variety of investigative and advisory assignments, primarily acquisitions, disposals and valuation related projects.
Emil has been based in Athens since 1994 and worked on a wide variety of investment transactions in Greece, and in the surrounding region, on behalf of both domestic and international clients and investors with particular focus on the banking, shipping and investment industries and on Private Equity transactions.
